The year started of with interviews for new members as we said goodbye to old ones who were now moving on to Rotaract. Our first event was a collection drive at Sunday Bazaar with the title ‘A Helping Hand-Not their Helplessness, Our Responsibility.’ This event was held with the aim to raise funds for the 2011 flood that had devastated many areas in interior Sindh.

At 10 am on the 23rd of October 2011, a group of 28 volunteers gathered at Sunday Bazaar. A stall had also been setup for the volunteers to meet up and soon everyone was paired and sent to ask for donations. Although we did encounter some people who were skeptical of our intentions, there were those who were generous as well and overall we raised a total of Rs. 38,000 in this event.
